Masculine Paper Bag Birthday Card

I think we are all familiar with paper bag albums, but I don't believe I have ever seen a paper bag card before. But just how genius is that! Use the paper bag as your base, folded/scored down the center. You would even have the back side of the card/bag available to tuck something in if you wanted. I absolutely love this idea and can't wait to give it a try myself. And truthfully, I think the guys would get a kick out of it as opposed to a traditional card made from cardstock.

Layered Sunflower

Wishing you all a wonderful fall weekend. At least in our neck of the woods it is very fall-ish! Deb Saaranen created this gorgeous card for fall using our Sunflower Season stamp/die set and a sentiment from our Typewritten Series of sentiments. She both die cut and fussy cut the sunflower image for a lovely pop of dimension.

Clean, simple and lovely for this beautiful autumn season.

Retired embossing folder - find embossing folders here

Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic colored, VersaFine Clair Acorn

In this photo you can see the dimension a bit better - the popped up center portion of the sunflower and the bud.

In Deb's own words:

"I stamped the sunflower and bud twice and fussy cut the center of the sunflower (also bud) and popped them up on the first stamped image for dimension."

Thanks so much, Deb, for this very lovely fall card!

Remembering 9-11

I don't think anyone who was of age and walking the city streets or country roads of the USA  at the time will ever forget September 11, 2001. It is etched permanently in the minds of all. We remember the horrific attacks, those who came running so fearlessly into the face of danger to help, and those who so tragically lost their lives on that fateful day and in the years to follow due to exposure and complications.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Deb Felts created this beautiful card in memory of 9-11.

It is truly a perfect card paying tribute to all.

Patriotic Sentiments (sentiment on front)

The American Eagle (large flag/star)

Welcome Baby Basics (small gold stars)

Spellbinders Circle Dies

Let Freedom Ring designer paper by Echo Park

This is a fun card design.

The star showing on the front is actually on the inside flap.

This is like a card within a card - the inside card being "backwards" and scored down the center.

Opening that "backwards card flap", this is what you see.

Countdown Dies by Tim Holtz (numbers)

Thank you so much, Deb, for this beautiful card of tribute as we approach September 11.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Give Thanks

Esther is here today sharing a gorgeous fall card that she made for her Memory Dex box. She has been adding projects to it for a year or two and I certainly love this idea! For this addition she used our Boho Fall Leaves combined with sentiments from Give Thanks. They pair beautifully and are a perfect choice to go with the fall colored sheet of designer paper from Tartan Plaid by Craft Consortium.

This is the card added to the others in the Memory Dex box.

I absolutely love this idea and have been meaning to order a box like this for a long time, and maybe that time is NOW!  Searching Memory Dex should bring up many options. I am thinking Esther got this one from Etsy.

A Tribute to The Edmund Fitzgerald

Hello to all and though still unofficial, fall is here. September brings us closer to the end of our summer florals and the beginning of fall's glorious colors, October brings us pumpkins and spice and all things nice, while November, at least to us up on the shores of Lake Superior, brings us the gales of November with sad memories of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, while Karen was raised in Duluth, MN, so that fateful day in November is forever etched in our minds and hearts. Karen has 2 cards to share with us today, both using The Edmund Fitzgerald.

Card #1

This stunning card from Karen was basically CASED. Some say 'copy and share everything', others say 'copy and steal everything' and Karen likes the term 'scraplifting', which I like, too!

We share cards here at Stamp Simply with the hope you, too, will want to CASE and recreate the cards we make, or use them as an inspirational point to start your own unique creations. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we could not agree more. Please know that we here are HONORED when you like our cards enough to want to recreate them, so please, feel free to do so!

Karen CASED this card from Esther - check it out! Although different stamps were used, you will see the similarity.

Scraps of designer paper - see 6x6 pads here

_____

Card #2

For this card Karen combined both sets used above.

He Stilled the Storm (flying birds)

Thanks so much, Karen, for both of these lovely cards!
