Birthday Poppies

Good morning! I love when a card just kind of jumps out at you, and the birthday card that Esther Asbury is sharing today does just that. And in this case, it's the colors that do it, that cause that 'jump'. Crisp and classic blue and white - a color scheme that is always a winner in my book. This card is so pretty, using one floral image to create both the background and the focal image, paired with a simple sentiment.

This is a belly banded gatefold card which is always fun to make, to open and to receive.

Nautical Themed Birthday Wishes

We here at Stamp Simply love creating stamp sets in coordinated/companion series. Doing so allows you to puchase one or two sets at a time, then continue to build on the series, offering more and more options for design. Esther Asbury is here today sharing a wonderful nautical themed card combining sets from our Lighthouse Series and our Great Lakes Series, which all fall under the broader classification of our Michigan Series. All made to work together in terms of image style and font, they are totally interchangeable, giving you so many, many design options.

This fun fold card is a variation of the popular Joy Fold Card, which I often describe as being one card (backwards) on top of the base card. This is very similar in design.

This is the card front, fully closed.

Ink Drops Ocean (designer paper used throughout)

Opening the top flap with bridge, this is what you now see.

He is the Light (lighthouse)

Sliding over, this is the underside of that top bridge flap, holding the sentiment and giving us a peek at the next layer.

And the only embellishment used throughout this project is the drywall tape. I remember that wonderful discovery a few decades ago - LOL. Fun then and still fun, now!
