A Tribute to The Edmund Fitzgerald

Hello to all and though still unofficial, fall is here. September brings us closer to the end of our summer florals and the beginning of fall's glorious colors, October brings us pumpkins and spice and all things nice, while November, at least to us up on the shores of Lake Superior, brings us the gales of November with sad memories of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, while Karen was raised in Duluth, MN, so that fateful day in November is forever etched in our minds and hearts. Karen has 2 cards to share with us today, both using The Edmund Fitzgerald.

Card #1

This stunning card from Karen was basically CASED. Some say 'copy and share everything', others say 'copy and steal everything' and Karen likes the term 'scraplifting', which I like, too!

We share cards here at Stamp Simply with the hope you, too, will want to CASE and recreate the cards we make, or use them as an inspirational point to start your own unique creations. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we could not agree more. Please know that we here are HONORED when you like our cards enough to want to recreate them, so please, feel free to do so!

Karen CASED this card from Esther - check it out! Although different stamps were used, you will see the similarity.

Scraps of designer paper - see 6x6 pads here

Card #2

For this card Karen combined both sets used above.

He Stilled the Storm (flying birds)

Thanks so much, Karen, for both of these lovely cards!

  1. My father had sold some of the machinery on that ship to the builder and had ridden it during its "trials." The sinking was one of the saddest nights of his life.
