Thankful for You

Autumn has got to be my favorite season of the year here in the north woods where we live. It is absolutely beautiful, the temps are mild and the landscape explodes with color. Likewise, I have always had a special place in my heart for fall themed cards - the colors, the calm and serenity that is depicted in fall cards that just speaks to me, and most fall cards work for either gender, which is a plus! Deb Saaranen is here today sharing a stunning, yet simple to make, fall card that is a true winner.

Sunflower Sympathy

Good morning, bright and early, to all! Deb Felts is here today sharing a beautiful sympathy card she made using our sunflower as the focal image. Though not the first flower one might think of for a sympathy card, Deb did wonders with this gorgeous image and some sentiments from our Sympathy Series. And in her own words, this is Deb's explanation as to why she chose the sunflower:

"I wanted the card for his family to be filled with the kind of Light and Life that his life represented so I selected some designer paper in lovely Summer sky colors paired with a bright and colorful sunflower."

Tri-Panel Masculine Card

Going way, way back in the day I used to LOVE to make these type of cards - and we used to call them accordion cards, often having multiple folds and pages. They are so much fun to make! If you have never made one, I strongly suggest starting with a simple tri-fold like Esther Asbury is sharing with us today. I absolutely love her design and product choices, making this perfect for the fall season and perfect for those guys all year round.

To create the card Esther cut a piece of cardstock to 

measure 4 1/4" x 10 1/2", scoring and folding it at 3 1/2"  and 7".

The patterned paper pieces measure 3 1/4" x 4".

Tags were cut using Tag Collection Dies by Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

This is a similar ribbon for the toppers.

Pastel Pumpkins

We have a fun and a bit whimsical card to share today from Karen Letchworth. Who doesn't love a gorgeous, plump pumpkin at this time of year and they become all the more fun when we color them up to suit our fancy. Pink and yellow pumpkins do it for me! How about you?

Although it looks like there is a lot going on here, this is actually a rather easy card to put together.

Love the chalkboard look to the seed packet background.

Good Sunday morning and God's richest blessings to all! Judy Rozema is with us today sharing this absolutely gorgeous fall scripture card featuring our Boho Fall Leaves in a square card format that is so appealing. It bears a clean, yet rich look for the fall season. I am always partial to layouts that feature a cattywampus placement and this one is especially appealing.

The simple embellishments are just striking!

Judy watercolored the image and made a distress oxide ink background "border" at the bottom of the cardstock base.

Sending You Cheer

We love a good all purpose card around here! The offering today is from Deb Saaranen and she is sending cheer - so perfect for a get well card, even if someone just has the sniffles and is a bit down and out, or for those times when someone is experiencing some of life's troubles. And maybe you'd send it for no reason at all - truly just to send some cheer. Really loving this wonderful card that will serve so many purposes.

Deb used our daisy set but colored them to be black-eyed Susans!

Note that the pitcher is paper pieced while the flowers are Copic colored.

And I am loving these darker, muted papers for fall.
